About the MSIC: The Montclair Safety and Improvement Council is a volunteer community advisory group to the City of Oakland, CA, whose purpose is to improve the quality of life in the greater Montclair area by promoting a variety of safety and lifestyle enhancements to the area.

The MSIC is funded, in part, by the Oakland Police Department (OPD), and is a Neighborhood Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) that encompasses the geographical boundaries of OPD Beat 13Z. This includes the Oakland Hills area bordering:

North: Moraga Ave/Thornhill Dr. to Contra Costa County Line
East: Contra Costa County Line
South: Park Blvd./Mountain Blvd./Ascot Dr./Castle Dr. to Contra Costa County Line. The Montera Association, south of Ascot Drive is also included.
West: Piedmont City border (between Moraga Ave. & Park Blvd.)

Empowering organized neighborhoods in the greater Montclair area to address safety and other issues of importance to them is our primary goal. Both Montclair Organized Neighborhoods (MONs) and the MSIC concentrate on the Areas of Focus identified by our residents.

We encourage you to join us in our efforts to make the greater Montclair area a better place to live, work, shop, and enjoy.
